About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to develop, enhance, and maintain complex software systems supporting critical national security missions. In this role, you will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and operators to transform mission requirements into efficient, high-performance software solutions that are secure, maintainable, and built for scale.

You will take end-to-end ownership of development, from architecture and implementation to optimization and long-term sustainment, leveraging your  expertise to deliver systems that perform flawlessly under demanding operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop applications and system components for high-reliability mission environments
• Optimize performance and memory usage for complex, real-time workloads
• Integrate C++ systems with existing mission platforms and automation frameworks
• Implement monitoring, observability, and fault-tolerant design across distributed systems
• Modernize and refactor existing C++ codebases for improved maintainability and security
• Work collaboratively with analysts, infrastructure engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (with Full Scope Polygraph)
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience developing C++ applications in complex, mission-driven systems
• Strong knowledge of modern C++ standards (C++14/17/20) and STL
• Experience with Linux-based development, debugging, and performance profiling
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding practices
• Solid understanding of software lifecycle management in secure or classified environments

• Proficiency in Python for automation, testing, or tooling

• Experience integrating C++ components with Java or REST-based services

• Exposure to containerization, orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks

• Knowledge of real-time systems, network programming, or hardware interfaces
